Question & Answer

Ok, so I was looking at your comic on renoir comics and there was a little sort of clip that was playing above the description and I kind of recognised the music but couldn't place it. I was wondering if you could tell me the name of the song. Thanks!

It’s a ragtime piece by Scott Joplin called The Entertainer.  Most people recognize it as the score to the movie, The Sting, and tend to associate it with the 1930’s or so, in conjunction with the film’s setting.  Ragtime was well out of fashion by then, however.  It’d be like making a popular movie about the life and times of the 2000’s, scoring it with disco music, and inadvertently convincing future generations that, in history, disco underscored the rise of the internet.  Good movie, nevertheless, though.  And Scott Joplin rags are great.
