Well, it’s that time of year for painting departed pet portraits for family members again.  I’m a little embarrassed posting this here, but the comic is kicking my butt lately, and I haven’t got much else to show right now.And, oh, hey, if you have a cat of about 7 or older, especially a Persian, having bloodwork done to check for chronic renal failure (CRF) is a good idea.  It can be pretty devastating, and it’s rather unpleasant way to go, but treating it before it reaches crisis mode can prolong the cat’s life and comfort level for years.

  3. redcoatcat said: My cat Isis (a himmy) got renal failure when she was 15. Catching it early really helps treat it, last year I lost her to cancer at age 18. Amazing work, it’s nice to see a Persian in your art.

  5. raemcg said: What is it with relatives wanting pet portraits!? I don’t understand. Deceased pets make more sense because it is a memorial. I just rather look at my dog than a picture on the wall, I guess. Anyways, yours is very lovely.
